Surf
Barbados has great waves all over the island.
Freights Bay is a great Longboard and beginner wave. Located just 2 blocks from the house.
South Point is a fun, reef break. It has a left and right break and is best for Intermediate and advanced surfers. Take caution entering and exiting the water - the rocks are sharp and it can be tricky. Located approx. 3 blocks south and 1 block east of the house - it’s an easy walk.
Brandons (also known as Drill Hall) is a 20-minute drive from the house. This break is a super fun reef break that works for beginner through advanced surfers depending on the conditions.
Soup Bowls is Barbados' top surf break, loved by Kelly Slater, with steep right-handers and rocky, reef bottom (watch for urchins). Located on the East Coast of Barbados, it is a heavy right-hand wave that breaks in about 7 feet of water on a rock shelf. It’s best for intermediate to advanced surfers.

Beaches & more
Barbados has the most amazing beaches and attractions. We dare you to find a beach you don’t enjoy.
Miami Beach is located near Oistins on your way back toward town. You can walk to this beach if you follow the road along Freight’s Bay - it’s a 15-minute walk. This beach has beautiful sand, lovely trees that provide shade, bathrooms, and a food truck that serves cold drinks and good fish cutters (sandwiches).
Worthing Beach, heading west just past St. Lawrence Gap, is a great little beach. It is shallow and often protected from south swell by a barrier reef. You can rent chairs on this beach and we highly recommend The Seafood Shack for lunch.
Carlise Bay/ Pebbles Beach is a beautiful sandy beach. There isn’t much shade here so we recommend renting an umbrella and bringing your sunblock. We love to swim about 250 yards off the beach and snorkel the shipwrecks. They are amazing - lots of fish and turtles.
Shark hole - The beach head is a spoon-shaped sand pit with the ocean coming in through a narrow funnel. It is protected from the full force of the ocean crashing onto the shore by a ridge of coral rock outside of the funnel. At its widest it is just 40ft or so across.
All of the beaches on the West Coast are gorgeous and open to the public. Some of our favorites are Batt’s Rock, Gibb’s Bay, Payne’s Bay, and Sandy Lane are all beautiful.

Eat
So many good restaurants… so little time. We recommend making a reservation as often as possible, especially during the busy holiday season.
We prefer casual and low-key restaurants on the south coast. Some local favorites include:
(South Coast)
Surfers Bay - This super casual beach bar has good food and great vibes. Enjoy happy hour drinks and dinner by the beachside fire.
Cafe Luna- Cafe Luna - Located on the rooftop terrace of Little Arches Hotel, Cafe Luna is an open air, terracotta terrace restaurant run by Canadian Executive Chef and owner, Mark DeGrunchy, or Moo as he is better known. Alfresco dining does not get any better
Surfers Cafe consistently offers great food. We love their breakfast but we also visit for dinner, especially on Thursday nights for reggae night.
Salt Cafe is one of our favorite restaurants for dinner. There is something for everyone on their menu. Do not miss the brownie ice cream dessert - it is Ah-mazing! Make reservations in advance - this restaurant is tiny.
Worthing Plaza is a collection of 20 different food truck pop-ups gathered in an outdoor square complete with string lights and picnic tables. Cafe Sol
Cafe Sol is always a winner for their famous 'Tex-Mex' dishes, massive margarita list, and fun atmosphere.
Cocktail Kitchen - Taste the culinary mastery of Barbados Top Chef Damian Leach, the Caribbean's 'Chef of the Year.' Indulge in local favorites like the Roast Breadfruit & Lobster or the Catch of the Moment, expertly crafted with the island's best flavors.
(West Coast)
Local & Co. - dishes up approachable food with transparency in dining. They showcase ingredients sourced from local and regional farms, producers and wild foragers. Their menu is determined by what Barbados farmers have available at the time and what their chefs have managed to gather and preserve in house through the seasons.
La Cabane - enjoy fresh flavors with your toes in the sand, gazing out onto the caribbean sea, immersing yourself in a La Cabane daze with our curated playlists & live entertainment.
Sea Shed - Beachside bites whipped up by renowned Chef Jeremy Dupire, their Caribbean meets Mediterranean menu unfolds a diverse range of dining options. Great spot/ beach to hang all day!
The Fish Pot -At the Fish Pot, right on the water on the northwest coast outside of Speightstown in Barbados, grilled lobster and seafood platters are as fresh as you’d expect. Family run for almost two decades, this small restaurant is an excellent place to swing by for a seafood lunch or dinner.
